    About G-Star:

G-Star is the biggest annual trade show for the video game industry presented by Korea Association of Game Industry and Busan IT Promotion Agency in November.  Last year, G-Star featured 1130 game-related companies from 43 countries and welcomed more than 2,200 B2B visitors and over 184,000 B2C visitors.

    The Korean Games Market:

South Korea is the fourth largest market globally, after the USA, China, and Japan. As of 2021, it accounted for 7.6% of the global gaming market. In 2021, Mobile gaming (57.9%) is the platform of choice and local companies actively develop and release mobile games for domestic and global audiences. PC gaming (26.8%) remains massively popular due to widespread accessibility to PC bangs (PC rooms), an abundance of games, and popularity of e-sports. Compared to other countries, the market share is low for console gaming (5%) and arcade gaming (1.3%). On the other hand, game circulation businesses, such as PC bangs and gaming arcades, have been recovering from the effects of COVD-19. Over 70% of the Korean population has played games. South Koreans gamers are big fans of MMOs and the most popular kinds of games include RPGs, shooters, and RTSs. Finally, Koreans strongly favour free-to-play mobile games. That said, Korean gamers are big spenders, with some 38% spending money on games.
