The BIV BC500 features business leaders who have a notable impact on B.C.’s communities, industries and economy. They are visionaries, innovators and trailblazers. They embody the values of modern leadership: engagement, trust, corporate citizenship, inclusion and innovation. Some of them are household names; some of them are well known within their industries. All of them influence life and business in British Columbia.

Congratulations to our Executive Director Loc Dao and board members Natali Altshuler (EA SPORTS & RACING) and Kay Wong-Alafriz (Kabam) for being named to the BIV BC500 2022 list.
We'd also like to congratulate the following DigiBC members who were recognized.

    • Amir Nasrabadi (Disney Animation)
    • Jennifer Twiner McCarron (Atomic Cartoons / Thunderbird)

The World Wide Web Consortium is coming to Vancouver from September 12-16 for its annual conference, the Technical Plenary and Advisory Committee (TPAC 2022)

Each year W3C brings together more than a thousand web developers, architects, engineers, product and technology innovation leaders from the global Technical Web Community; W3C Advisory Board and Advisory Committee; and Technical Architecture Group to meet for a week of collaborative meetings. The focus is on both current web standards work as well as discussions for the future of what’s next for the web, including Interactive Web/AR/VR, Metaverse, Web3, etc.

While W3C’s TPAC is a members-only meeting, there are several opportunities in which DigiBC members and the local Vancouver tech community are invited to engage with the global W3C community. The W3C community looks forward to meeting with the DigiBC community this September in Vancouver!

Are you currently working in film or video games and looking for a new challenge where you can add to your skill-set, meet new people, and make some extra cash?

Think Tank Training Centre is on the lookout for experienced senior artists and designers to help teach and mentor the next generation of CG animators. Work for as little as a couple of hours a week from anywhere in the world!
This is more of a community than it is a place to work. Whether you're guiding students remotely or teaching at the Think Tank Campus… you’ll connect with an inspiring group of budding artists, creative peers, and industry heavyweights. It’s a great place to talk shop, ask for advice, make new connections and grow.
